EDNA UNCUT one giant brainstorm
On Wed 2nd of July 2008, Sydney based EDNA members and supporters gathered for a night of screening, discussion and networking. Hosted during UNDERBELLY PUBLIC ARTS LAB at Carriageworks the night was a huge success. Over 70 people formed a generous, intelligent audience giving the developing doco projects ideas, advice, and new angles. ' The best part of EDNA UNCUT for me was the opportunity to present my film and speak about it publicly. It was a good experience to articulate the ideas of the film to a group of people who had otherwise heard nothing about it prior to the night. Also, the Q&A session was helpful. Some of the questions asked from the floor highlighted for me the parts of the story that needed more thought or development. Feedback about the night for the committee, what worked / what didn't etc... There wasn't any solid feedback that I had sought from Tom (namely, (re: narrative development and funding options) and from people generally. As I mentioned above some of the questions asked were good in the sense that they got me thinking about certain things that I may not have. However, I didn't receive anything concrete regarding either the particular issues that I wanted to know more about or general pointers for the films development. I thought there would be more of that. Otherwise it was totally cool. Thanks again.'
